Interview with Adeline

Getting to know Adeline!

It's like peeling back layers of creativity, drive, and genuine curiosity. Born in Louisville, KY, she's majoring in Communications and DAT, which fits perfectly with her passion for storytelling and connection. She somehow balances four jobs, serving as a Hall host and tour guide at Bellarmine University, scooping ice cream at Graeters, teaching preschoolers, and working as freelance videographer. A vegetarian with a deep love for pasta and a soft spot for Guinness, she finds joy in the little things, whether it's hiking, watercolor painting, writing, or exploring new music. Adeline's love for travel has also taken her to some incredible places, with the Netherlands and Northern Ireland holding a special place in her heart.

It was a pleasure to get to know Adeline and I hope everyone knows her a little better now!

Riley's interview with Bella

Bella is a Business administration DAT major, and marketing and communications. She likes the movie Ponyo just like me. We both agreed that Ponyo is one of our go-to feel good comfort movies.  She has a dog, and two siblings. She's from Louisville, but was born in California. She doesn't play any sports, we have that in common, although she used to play field hockey. She spends her free time watching movies, spending time with her friends, and hiking. She's not sure of her dream job, but she loves Halloween and the movie Interstellar. She wants to travel to Italy, and does not have any tattoos. And lastly has a great personality, and considers herself a semi-introvert!

Amy's Interview with McKenzie

 McKenzie (she/her):

McKenzie is a Junior majoring in Digital Art, aspiring to be a book illustrator. She is a self-taught artist that loves drawing and has recently  started creating original characters (her favorite is Ginger). Her favorite colors are purple, pink, and baby blue. McKenzie has a pet dog and a pet guinea pig and she really loves any animal EXCEPT for monkeys (because they look too similarly to humans). McKenzie is not much of a sweets person, but she would tear up some pasta, lemonade, and smoothies. Her favorite holiday is Easter because of how colorful it is and its relation to Jesus. Lastly, her favorite seasons are Fall and Spring (great choices).

Layah's Interview with Ella

Interview with Ella Brock (she/her).

Ella’s full name is Gabrielle because her mom “simply liked it”. Her dad has wondered why her name isn’t Gabriella since she uses Ella as her preferred name. He has also joked that her middle name, Elise, was inspired by a car — although it's spelled completely differently. She has an older and a younger sister, and three pet rats with distinct names and personality quirks.

One thing I admire about Ella is her consideration about visiting foreign destinations. When travelling to a new area, she may hesitate to avoid intruding on another region’s cultural and societal practices. If she were to travel, she would like to visit the Louvre when it is completely empty.

What Ella and I have in common is body art in the form of tattoos. She has seven, with her favorite being a large jester on her thigh. When I asked her why this was her favorite, Ella shared, “I'm a jester...You keep me around to keep you laughing, you can't kill me.” As we prepare for Halloween, Ella shared a fun story of her 2024 experience. Since last year was an election year and early voting was an option, she dressed as the Swedish Chef from the Muppets and decided to go to the polls. Initially she was afraid she wouldn’t be allowed in since she was in full costume including a large fake nose and mustache, however, the poll staff got a kick out of her costume and allowed her to cast her vote like normal.

Liam's interview w/ Andrea

Andrea is a senior and goes by she/her pronouns. She is from Portugal and she is majoring in DAT, broadcasting, and minoring in art and communications. She plans on getting her masters in digital media.

Some things we have in common are that we love the color green, particularly forest green, and we both have similar shoes, Birkenstocks. Her dream job is to go into sports/graphic media/PR. Her favorite food is lasagna. She has a younger brother, a cat and her mom and dad. Both of our favorite holidays are Christmas. Her favorite season is autumn. The favorite place that she has gone on vacation to was an island in Portugal, Madeidra. Her guilty pleasures are potato chips and Coke (keep diet away from her).

She loves all music types. Her favorite movie is the greatest showman. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn and I’m a Cancer which means we are very compatible! Her favorite TV show is Scorpion. If she could control an element it would be water so she’s a waterbender (just like me)! She plays basketball for Bellarmine too. She also doesn't have a favorite animal because she loves them all <3

Emily’s Interview with Prajita

Emily Stefanisin

she/her

Emily is a junior she has a major in design arts and technology and communications. She's from Chicago IL and she has an older brother. Her and I both love seafood that's one thing that we both connected on we love a good seafood boil. Emily hates the sound of chewing and people interrupting her which is one of her biggest pet peeves. Something that Emily really wants to do during this year, or the following years is to travel more outside of the country she's traveled to a country, but she wants to do more. She loves to watch movies she's not a big reader. Honestly, Emily and I have so much in common and when we were both getting to know each other I think we would get along really well and I'm so excited to get to know more about her this semester

Bella's interview with Riley

Riley

Riley is entering her senior year, majoring in Design, Art & Technology, and Digital Art. She was born in Maryland and raised in Elizabethtown. In high school, she used to play soccer, but now she spends her free time sewing, making sourdough, and going to church.

Riley’s faith is extremely important to her. She is non-denominational and has built close relationships within her church community. Her favorite holidays are Christmas and Easter, as both are centered around Jesus!

Some things we have in common include the fact that we both have dogs, we both love the movie Ponyo, and we're both semi-introverts, semi-extroverts.

A few fun facts about Riley: her dream job is to be an elementary school art teacher, she’s been married for six months, she has a tattoo she regrets, she loves SweetTART Ropes, and her favorite classes are Arts Entrepreneurship & Technology and Photography. Also, her birthday was yesterday!

Layla’s Interview with Ari

Ari Eastman (They/Them)

In Ari’s free time, they enjoy coding, Taco Bell, grape jolly ranchers, and creatively expressing themselves through their art. Ari and I are both Louisville natives. We both have glasses, we are both DAT majors, we both love the color pink, and we both classify ourselves as introverts. Ari also has a few dogs and cats, and their biggest pet peeve is loud chewing.

Mckenzie's Interview with Amy

 Amy Caldwell

This is Amy, a senior at Bellarmine University. She prefers to be called she/her. She was originally from a smaller town in Kentucky, but moved to Louisville as she grew up. Amy is the youngest out of her 2 older brothers.

Her favorite drink is drinking boba tea and for dessert, mochi ice cream. She likes to drink coffee whereas I don't. She has a rabbit and a dog (if I remember correctly), as her pets. As a hobby to pass some time, she likes to make anything that is with art, which is something she wants to do for her future career. If there was anywhere in the world that she could go, it would be Australia and Japan. She has been to England before, but wants to go back there again sometime in the future. Her favorite movie(s) are Momma Mia, and Surfs Up. favorite season is fall, and green is her favorite color. Halloween is her favorite holiday. Amy likes to read or watch anything fictional over non-fictional.

Amy's current job right now is being a party host and helping out with kid's parties specifically.

Hope all enjoyed hearing a little bit about Amy

Getting to Know Keaton

Getting to Know Keaton

Keaton was born in Louisville, KY, but grew up in Shepardsville. Growing up with two sisters and his mom, Keaton finds enjoyment in nostalgic throwback music from the 90s and 2000s. However, his music taste is vast. He also loves Classic Rock and Country, listening to artists as different as Alex Warren and George Strait. Keaton also has a love for films from many different time periods. He enjoys movies such as Star Wars: A New Hope, The Lord of the Rings, and Interstellar.

Not only does Keaton have an interest in lots of media from over the decades, but he is also passionate about traveling. Through his role in the military, Keaton has had the opportunity to travel all over the world. His favorite places include Germany, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. He is also a huge foodie and loves to try new foods every place he goes!

Between working at UPS, his dedication to the service, as well as his love of travel, Keaton is also a student at Bellarmine University. He is a double major, studying Design, Arts, and Technologies, as well as Communications. Keaton has an affection for video editing. Outside of work and school, Keaton also enjoys tennis, flying, and spending time with his fiancĂ©e, whom he recently proposed to.

Hopefully, now we all know more about who Keaton is, and he is not just a familiar face in the back of the room, but a friend.

Who is Liam?

Liam is a senior from Bardstown, KY. He is a DAT and English major with a minor in Film Studies, he desires to be a film director.

Liam is obsessed with Qdoba bowls at the moment and can't wait for Wicked 2 to come out, and so can't I. He is surrounded by his mom, his two older siblings and a cute cat, who make Christmas his favorite holiday.

Our guilty pleasure is potato chips, but Liam has a soft for the Salt & Vinegar ones. Something about us both is our love for forest green and comfy Birkenstocks.

His favorite trip was to San Diego, and his pirate name would be Goldy Locks, and if he had control over an element would be Water, which is funny because he doesn't like sharks.

Liam's favorite season is spring, and his favorite TV show is SpongeBob, to which I told him he looked like someone who loves it, whatever that might mean.

Although he is not connected to sports currently, Liam used to do Croos Country, Track and Field and Swim.

He is a Cancer, and we are so compatible!

Ari's Interview With Layla

 Layla Osborn (She/Her)

Layla Osborn is a senior at Bellarmine University, where she is pursuing a double major in Digital Arts and Technology (DAT) and Communication. This summer, she participated in an internship focused on combating human trafficking. She traveled to Bosnia and Croatia, where she enjoyed quality time with her family and took part in karaoke. Her parents run a printing business in Louisville that specializes in providing materials for forensic cases.

Osborn values leadership roles and creativity, and places a strong emphasis on marketing and design. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, a time she cherishes for spending with her family. Additionally, she confesses to a guilty pleasure of listening to music that she finds embarrassing, and her preferred fast food is McDonald’s because of its classic appeal.

We found several notable similarities between us, including a shared appreciation for the color pink, the fact that we are both only children, a mutual enjoyment of Jolly Ranchers, and our common origin in Louisville.

Sophia's Interview with Jansen

Jansen Story (she/her)

Jansen is a senior at Bellarmine University, double majoring in DAT and Communication. In addition to her major, she also has a minor in art. Alongside her studies, she is an athlete and is on Bellarmine's track team. Jansen is originally from Louisville and has two sisters. She enjoys painting, running, and shopping.

This summer, Jansen completed an internship with a freelance digital marketing business that worked with many different clients. Throughout her internship, she discovered that she would like to work for a marketing company in the future, as it would allow stability and consistency working for a single brand rather than multiple clients.

Jansen does not necessarily have "favorites" when it comes to movies or music, and instead has a variety of music/movies that she enjoys. She does have a favorite candy and holiday, though. She likes the airhead strips and sour candy. Her favorite holiday is Christmas.

During our interview, I found out that we have a lot of things in common. Both of us are in the same major, we both have two sisters, we grew up in Louisville, both of us had an internship this summer, and we love shopping!

Jansen's Interview with Sophia

I had the pleasure of getting to know Sophia better. Sophia's preferred pronouns are she/her.

When talking, we had many things in common! 3 similarities that we listed were that we both have 2 sisters, we are both from Louisville, and we are both double majors in DAT and Comm. She also has a minor in TV news and broadcasting.

Some other things we have in common is that we are both in our senior year, but Sophia will be continuing in the MBA program. We also both had internships this summer. Sophia's worked at the KFB on the video team. During the internship, she got to go to different farms, and she really enjoyed the experience.

Sophia's dream job is in video broadcasting, video editing, or sports broadcasting. Currently, she helps with ESPN sports broadcasting at Bellarmine, and her favorite sports to work with are basketball then soccer, and wrestling.

Some of Sophia's hobbies include cart driving with her mini pony, photography, videography, shopping, and thrifting. I also learned that her family is from Germany, she likes German and Indian food, her favorite candy is Jolly Ranchers, her favorite meal of the day is dinner, and her favorite holiday is Christmas.

After talking with Sophia, I learned a lot about her and that we have many things in common!

Emily's Interview with Prajita

Prajita (she/her)

Prajita is a senior with a double major in DAT and Psychology. She has 2 younger siblings, one brother and one sister. Her parents have an interesting love story as they had an arranged marriage. Prajita's parents met for the first time at the airport, and within 24 hours, they were married. Her mother was only 21 when she got married, and then just a year later, was pregnant. Prajita and I have common tastes in food; we both love a seafood boil and dumplings. Prajita's favorite dumplings are from Trader Joe's. Prajita would love to have a dog someday, as she currently does not have any pets. Right now, she really wants a Dachshund.

She grew up and has always lived in Louisville. She doesn't know where should would want to move to, but knows for certain it will not be by the coast because she does not want to deal with hurricane season.

For Halloween, her friends and her are going as the founding fathers. This will be the first year she goes to Ball on the Belle. We have both never gone before.

She loves to travel and has been to Ireland, Canada, and Nepal. In December, she is going with Father John to India.

Ella's Interview with Layah Hodges

Interview with Layah Hodges (she/her).

Layah has one older sibling, a brother named Willie, who is five years older than her. She has 10 tattoos; her favorite is the first one she got: a memorial tattoo to her mother when she was 18. She’s never had a pet and dislikes chicken on the bone and cooked carrots. She doesn't normally dress up for Halloween; however, she went with her theater group one year as characters from Sesame Street, and she was Elmo in a red shirt with construction paper details. Her guilty pleasure is Karma by JoJo Siwa, and it was her top song on Spotify last year. She enjoys traveling and specifically wants to go back to Tokyo, where she went this summer, and wants to possibly stay for a year or more. She doesn't know if her name has a specific meaning, but guesses that, considering the time, "Layah" might've been based on 'Leah' from Star Wars and was just spelled differently to be unique regarding her last name. She says it “came from the last guy who owned my family” and specified it was unrelated to the hodge-podge glue. However, upon review, the glue is called Mod Podge, and a hodgepodge is a mixture or grouping of things, so we were both confused by that.

We have in common our communications majors, having older siblings, having multiple tattoos, and memorial ones specifically. We both dislike cooked carrots, and I also have issues with chicken ON the bone.
